About the Author

Mr Matthew Derbridge

Graduate of the University of Wollongong, I am a Support Teacher, an amateur magician who has had more ideas in his head than students taught and cards in my ever-growing deck collection. I write down my ideas and form a story. I combine what I see, hear, read and make something so imaginative that it blows even my mind.
When you have nothing but time on your hands, stories flow. Being unique in my thinking, sometimes, it takes writing them down for someone else to see them, since I struggle with the speaking and drawing concept.

I am a middle child of a not so simple home with an over-active imagination and a mind that has a world of its own. When you are a child, you see the world and hope it can be better. When you grow up and see that the world isn’t getting better, only a fair few come up with a new world for people to live in.
There are always bullies, knock-backs, failings and heartbreak and pain in life, but what you do with them makes you a better person. I wrote myself a world that was better, but even in a perfect world, there is darkness and evil.

There is no way to turn back time; there is no way to mend something that is damaged. The ever going question of ‘What if’ won’t change the past, but a story about a better future could make progress for a better tomorrow.

I grew up watching cartoons and reading stories about adventures and heroes. I have played games that have fights and victory. I followed a path that would make the next generation better and brighter, but doors closed. However, when I write, I am giving a lesson to those that are in the age group to make a difference. It is never too late to see the world in a different light, and that’s what I have been doing for a decade—creating that world.
